Third Luminous Mystery: Proclaiming the Kingdom

Mark 1:14-15, Mark 10:7-8; Luke 7:36-50; Mark 2:3-13; John 20:19-23

Proclaiming the Kingdom – Jesus proclaims the coming of the Kingdom of God, calls us to conversion and forgives the sins of all who draw near to Him in humble trust. It begins the ministry of mercy which He continues to the end of the world, particularly through the Sacrament of Reconciliation which He has entrusted to His Church.

Resolution – Jesus, I trust in You. I resolve to protect and increase my faith. I desire zeal for the glory of God.

Thanks – Thank you, Father, for providing us with the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

? What do you think of when you review this mystery?

… Think about what Jesus accomplished in the short time He was with us.   … Think about His immediate forgiveness of those who had faith. Remember bible stories of the many who were physically and immediately healed.   … What sacraments does this refer to? (Holy Orders, Sacrament of reconciliation – penance – confession.)

After reviewing the Resolution and Thanks statements and the meditations, can you think of additional ones?

Fourth Luminous Mystery: The Transfiguration

Luke 9:28-35

The Transfiguration – Believed to have taken place on Mount Tabor, the glory of God shines forth from the face of Christ as the Father commanded the astonished Apostles to ‘listen to Him’ and to prepare to experience with Him the agony of the Passion, so as to come with Him to the joy of the Resurrection and a life transfigured by the Holy Spirit.

Resolution – Jesus, I resolve to listen to You, always! I desire a life transfigured by the Holy Spirit

Thanks – Holy Trinity, thank you for the revelations you provide, as they give us hope.

? What do you think of when you review this mystery?

… How would you react if you were with Jesus when he revealed his full glory?  … What would you say to Moses and Elijah?  … Why would Jesus choose Peter, John and James?  … Think about the promise of glory the transfiguration provides – comments?

After reviewing the Resolution and Thanks statements and the meditations, can you think of additional ones?

Fifth Luminous Mystery: The Institution of the Eucharist

Luke 22:19-20, John 13:1-38; Mark 14:22-25

The Institution of the Eucharist – Christ offers His body and blood as food under the signs of bread and wine, and testifies “to the end” of His love for humanity, for whose salvation he will offer Himself in sacrifice.

Resolution – I resolve to reach holiness. Lord, draw me as often as You will to Holy Communion. I desire to remove from my heart all that is displeasing to You.

Thanks – Father, thank you for giving us this divine assistance. May this remain with us always.

? What do you think of when you review this mystery?

… Jesus’ love for humanity   …food for the body and soul   …the access you have weekly and daily  …how I can prepare myself for this gift of communion

After reviewing the Resolution and Thanks statements and the meditations, can you think of additional ones?

About Me

Hi, my name is Lisa and I'm passionate about helping others learn to love the rosary.

I prayed the Rosary for years, as if a child. I only grasped what it was meant to do when I came across an old booklet, probably from the 1950’s, that connected the bible passages to my life with resolutions.

I'd love to get a thorough description of what the Rosary really is to each of you.
